Description: Pa’lante Theater Company (A program of the Afro Caribbean Cultural Center of Greater Waterbury) announces ensemble auditions for its inaugural season slate of shows – the first show is a full length play and world premiere of CALLING PUERTO RICO by Juan Ramirez Jr., second is a Musical Theater Review celebrating Latinx Contributions to Theater titled “Viva Teatro Waterbury! (Long Live Theater in Waterbury).

Venue: Auditions, and rehearsals will be held at Afro Caribbean Cultural Center @ Heart & Sole Dance Studios (130 Scott Road, Waterbury, CT 06705).
Performances are presented and will be staged at 7 Angels Theater (1 Plank Road, Historic Hamilton Park Pavilion, Waterbury, CT 06705)
Payment: All actors will receive a stipend for the production of VIVA BROADWAY WATERBURY.

FEMALE SINGER – 20s+ BLACK/AFRO LATINA (SOPRANO)
FEMALE SINGER – 20s+ BLACK/AFRO LATINA / LATINA (MEZZO)
FEMALE SINGER/ACTRESS – BLACK/LATINA, 20s+ (ALTO)
MALE SINGER – 20s+ – Black/Latino (TENOR)
MALE SINGER – 20s+ – Black/Latino (BARATONE)
MALE SINGER - 20s+ - Black/Latino (BASS)
Auditions will take place on
Friday April 7th 6 pm - 9 pm and Saturday April 8th from 3 pm - 6 pm
((Call Backs will be the following week on Friday April 14th at 6 pm)
We will see actors every 20 minutes.
All Actors must bring current Headshot with Acting Resume (Note Headshot and Resume will not be returned).
For Viva Broadway Waterbury
In-person auditions; 1 musical piece that will be played with Bluetooth accompaniment, no pianist or accompanist will be provided/available. Song must be from a Black/Latinx Musical Theater production (Broadway or off-Broadway) email song to email@example.com.

Callbacks: by invitation on Friday April 14th starting at 6 pm; call backs will have females will have to sing one ballad showcasing Afro-Latine Musical Theater.
Rehearsals: Begin the first week of June Rehearsals will be Saturday Morning - Sunday Afternoon and Monday evening until tech week at the Afro Caribbean Cultural Center
TECH WEEK is Saturday-Thursday, Dates TBA (September 2023), 6-10 p.m at 7 Angels Theater
